really bad day!!!!

must you be in a direct relationship to open a joint account? i'd say NO!! yesterday, i went to one of the world's local bank in town to enquire about joint accounts and one of the staffs said that both parties of the joint account holders must have a direct relationship such as immediate family or married couple. if you don't, you basically can't open one because either party can withdraw all the money and close the account. this is crucial in terms of when one doesn't have a legal relationship, either could have just run away with the money. that doesn't make sense to me because it's not part of the bank to worry about. once you have sign the terms and conditions, that means you agreed to either party withdrawing or closing the account. it doesn't really matter if you have a direct relationship or not.

i wasn't convinced at all so i call up their telebanking to enquire more. apparently, the help desk representative gave me a totally different information. she said you can open a joint account regardless of whether you have a direct relationship and there's no condition stating that. then i informed her about what i was told by the branch staff, she insist that there's no such requirements and she also said it defers from branch to branch. it's all up to the branch to accept such kind of joint account. i am totally surprised by what she said and even ask her is that a YES or NO to open a joint account under such circumstances. she replied saying i will need to check with the respective branch itself and the only way to do it is by walking in and enquire. that's DUMB!!!

the next thing i did was to go back into the branch and get a confirmation from someone else. there was this guy that i explained the entire situation to and he asked me to wait while he finds out more for me. i was there waiting at one of the desk for 10 minutes and he still haven't turn up. so, i decided to look for him at the level below and found out that he is attending to those give away promotions. i went up to him and asked him where's my information? he looked puzzled and totally unaware i was waiting for him. he then tried to pass on the responsibility to someone else by saying "did she come back to you?". then, i asked who is the lady? isn't you the one who is supposed to come back to me? he even asked me to wait for another 5 minutes while he finishes with his give away promotions. man!!! i was so so so so pissed!!! i just told me it's ok coz i am not interested anymore and walk away. these people just have to learn to be more attentive while working and understand what does customer service meant. this is the most ridiculous bank service i have ever been to.

Looks like you got that hidden comment thing implemented ;)

The world's local bank eh? I know which one, just don't know which branch you went to. I think customer service these days are pretty bad. It's like they expect you to know everything and not have to ask. It's amazing how some companies still dare to claim they have the best customer service.

On the other hand.... joint account with who... SM ah? Why? Buy house ah? Marriage preparation ah? *wink* *wink* heehee

I'm damn pissed with the world's local bank's service quality. They don't take the initiative to serve their customers well.

2 months ago, I enquired with their customer service staff on which other bank's ATMs I can use to withdraw my money since their branches are not strategically located. That staff kept gaving me irrelevant answers. He then directed me to queue up at one of their teller just to ask a simple question that he couldn't answer properly. I got so fed up and requested to meet his supervisor. Finally the supervisor reluctantly explained to me abt their ATM policies.

show your courtesy

i've got 2 elderly relatives from overseas for the week and being local, i showed them around the city. they wanted to experience the malaysian light rail transit and monorail as compared to the one in hong kong and singapore. i mapped out a small route that will take them in all 3 city trains that we have.

we took one of the ride from klcc to masjid jamek and it was packed. then, i noticed this big sign saying 'seats for elderly, pregnant and handicapped - are you aware?' in bahasa melayu. right below the sign, there was an empty seat and one of my relatives took it while the rest is occupied by another 3 person who is at their 30's and 40's. believe it or not, none of them offered their seat to my other relative. what happened to the courtesy of the people in this country? it really pisses me off and come on!!! they're at least double your age, can't you just move your butt and allow the elderly to have a seat even though it's a short one. these are the minority that gives a bad name to the entire countrymen.

it feels good!!!

spring / 今日の空, originally uploaded by Kanko'.

i woke up at 710am today and i felt so nice and refreshed. why? maybe it's because my body knew that i'm no longer employed for the coming week as i only start again the week after. i was quite tired yesterday after doing some house work and workout at the gym with sm. then later in the evening, we went to MV to look for weight lifting gloves and dinner. it was choc-a-bloc yesterday night as it us quite a while to get a park. maybe that's the usual weekend thingy in MV.

well, it's always good to start early with a nice and bright sunny day. it makes you feel that you have plenty of time to do whatever you want. as for me, i've got visitors coming over for a week from NZ. they will be taking a coach from singapore while we will be meeting them later on. nope!! they're not staying with us but a nice luxury hotel down town.

all i'm hoping for is the coming week will go by slowly and i definitely going to enjoy it to the fullest. you guys have a great weekend too. cheers!!

free man!!

yes!! it's my last day yesterday in my the current company. i find my last working day an interesting one where i was asked to performed a demo to one of our prospect clients. it was supposed to be done a week earlier but it was rescheduled. IT'S MY LAST DAY MAN!!! but i don't really mind doing the last favour for them as it definitely adds on to my experience. many would have just say 'NO' but for me, why not? it was a quiet morning as the demo is not till after lunch. so, i was busy filling in some exit interview docs. darn!!! it's freaking lengthy and it had like about 20+ questions. I HATED IT!!! after that, i was cleaning up my work pc and laptop before checking for any personal items.

then it's lunch time where me, sm, mk and dsm went over to plaza damas to have lunch with my. we had a bit of chat and laughter about work, life, money and also my's wedding plan. ooops!! i guess i have forgotten to mentioned about 2 of my colleagues turn friends had taken a step further in life to be wedded in january 2007. congratulations to both you guys!!!

after lunch, me and mk head off for our demo at dataran prima. we were early so we had to wait in the conference room while preparing for the show. there and then we met the financial controller, hr manager and also the IT guy. demo was good as it's my last effort for this company and questions were all answered. overall, it was a good outcome. head back to the office and started returning laptops and other company properties. when it's all done, i said 'THAT'S IT', it's all done and i'm out of here now. after a couple handshaking stuffs and chats, it's 'THE END' for me in this company. i was a bit reluctant to leave the nice and warm friendly people but that's life and you had to move on.

later, me and sm had our dinner at pizza uno in centre point after reading and hearing all positive feedbacks. it didn't took us long to get there and getting a park is easy as it's not the exact dinner hour yet. the place looks normal, no big deal as it looks like a normal cafe. we got our table and started ordering. sm had the spaghetti aglio olio with grilled prawns and ice cappucino while i had the pollo parmigiana and affogato. the main course is fantastic and one word describes it - delicious!! but the drinks is at the total opposite side of it. sm's ice cappucino comes in blended which we're quite surprised and the ice was not blended as it should. it's worst than ice kacang by the road side. the worst part is the taste!! my affogato was below average and the vanilla ice cream melted in less than a minute. price wise, i think it's a bit too dear for the environment and seating arrangement as the comfort level is quite low. i can see people sweating while having their dinner as we were all seated very close to each other. anyway, it's still a good place to dine for nice italians but the trick is get an outdoor seating.

A demo on your last day? That's rough. Did the prospects know that you had one foot out the door?

@ 03:04, Blogger neotrax says

yeah it was!! prospect know nothing abt it as i'd say it was done quite professionally.

@ 15:49, Blogger David says

Hehe, did you leave them a copy of your resume like I suggested?

@ 18:02, Blogger neotrax says

hahahaha!!! too far to go to work for me!!!

@ 16:06, Blogger neotrax says

cannot!! we are professional and ethical people. should not do such thing. hehehehe!!!

almost there

I pass on swimming, originally uploaded by kanngard.

1 more day to go and i will be officially an ex-employee of my current company. after being here for well over 27 months, it's time to move on for a better career opportunity and future.

for the past 2 weeks, i have started to developed the sense of missing something and definitely it would be the wonderful colleague i have been working with. working here makes me felt so relax and comfortable especially we get to joke and have fun whilst getting our task done. as what pixel said before, it feels good as i can leave this company and bad leaving the gang.

well, after this, i will be starting a new career life in the next company and hopefully it will move towards a better one.
