thai seafood bbq....yummmy!!

after work today, me, sm, my, remy, mok and ben went to this dodgy place at taman cempaka (somewhere near pandan indah) for thai seafood bbq dinner. it's an outdoor hawker style seafood restaurant called "thai seafood bbq". why that dodgy place? well, it's actually recommended by mok after his experience with g** ... hehehehe!!! prior going there, mok said it has been proven by g** (thai girl) that they do serve good thai bbq. so, what the heck?? since it's proven, why not give it a try.

we left the office around 1900 hours and we were stuck in traffic for more than 45 mins just to get there. mok and my were late as they went to klcc to pick remy up from work (mok's such a nice guy.. ah). when we got there, there were a lot of crowds and luckily we found ourselves a table. then i started looking around for any thai people and believe it or not, that place is run by chinese and the only thais were probably the ones in the kitchen and the ones whom does the seafood grilling.

anyway, the 3 of us were there early and we were dead hungry and eventually we ordered a plate of fried rice with big prawns, fried curry powder squid and 12 pieces of thai style mini "yau cha kwai" dip with thai kaya to start with. drinks?? coconut of course!!! the food was served fast enough and 3 of us started our feast without them. the squid and the fried rice taste awesome till we can't resist of saving any for them... sorry guys!! hehehe!!

45 mins later, there comes the 3 of them and we ordered more dishes like steam fish, grilled squid, veges and claypot tom yam seafood. all of them taste fantastic except the fish is average. after 7 dishes, everyone doesn't seem to have enough especially mok (big eater) and remy (can't eat spicy food), so we ordered another plate of grilled squid, fried clams and "yamasen" (thai glass noodles with squid that tasted sour).

to the end of the dinner, everyone just can't carry on eating anymore as we were bloated and the plate of fried clams were only 20% eaten. it isn't that good if you were to ask me. lots chatting and laughter throughout the whole dinner as some of you would already know that when ben is around, he will make tons of silly and crappy jokes. not noticing the time flies and it's already 2300 hours and we got the bill, guess how much it was when 6 of us had 10 dishes of food together with white rice and coconut drinks. it only cost RM120 and it's freaking cheap when you get squids, prawns, fish and etc etc for that price.

unfortunately, i didn't managed to take any photos of the dishes but you know what i think? you guys should give it a try!!!

6 shoutouts

joanne... say notel nikko is on your right while ampang park is on the left, turn left from the lights into jln tun razak.

head straight till you reach the kampung pandan roundabout, make a 9 o'clock turn and head on straight till you reach pandan jaya.

its a long stretch of road where there are a couple of lights till you reach the end of the road where is a t-junction.

make a right turn, at the lights turn left again and straight ahead.

once you see a petronas on your left, make a left turn about 100m after the petrol kiosk. then you'll see the restaurant on your right after you turned into the lane.

it's those outdoor type restaurant. it closes on monday and the surroundings are all 5 or 6 stories flat.

not too sure abt the directions, drop me a mail.
