airbags on bikes?

i was reading at gizmodo today till i came across this article of motorcycle having airbags. does it really works? well, i don't think it will work as not all motorcycle comes with a back rest for the riders. the airbag works fine when a motorcycle come with a back rest especially the bike hits hard on the front that triggers the airbag. when one doesn't have a back rest, imagine the airbag knocking the rider to plunge backwards that will eventually causes more impact and injuries.

ex5 or c70 with airbag?? nah.. i don't think so!!
