house frankfurt

left the office around 630pm today and still not knowing where to go and what to have for dinner. we had a couple of options in mind and all of them is around bangsar area. the options were opus bistro, la bodega, bakerzin, basil, telawi street bistro and house frankfurt. as we drove past bsc, we finally made the decision to dine at opus bistro since i felt a bit on italian.

we were lucky to get a park right in front of opus bistro as normally it's packed. probably we were the early ones to have dinner around 7pm. the restaurant were quiet and when we entered, there were 2 waiters sitting near the bar area and expecting us to find our own seat. on the other hand, we were expecting them to get us a seat which is the normal service. however, none of the waiter served till we had to approach them. i was so pissed with their attitude and what makes it worst is that, the whole place was booked for the night. i was even more pissed after that as shouldn't you approach your customer even before they entered the restaurant. on the spot, i told sm, let's go to some other place then. even waiters in mamak stall does a better service than them.

there we go again in my car heading towards telawi area where we are lucky again to get a park by the roadside. we then walked past a couple of restaurant till we stop by at telawi st bistro, looked at the menu and found nothing interesting. right across tsb is where this german restaurant called house frankfurt is and i recalled that i've once promised to take sm there for dinner to try out their "grilled pork knuckles". so, we finally decided to dine there and there were quite a number of germans already knocking off some german beers.

the decor of the place was simple and nice where it has the bar over on the left while the dining tables and partitions was on the right. on the walls, it is well decorated with those older days german celebrities and also politicians. the light was dim and the ambience was filled with german accents. the washrooms walls were also decorated with photos and articles taken from magazines where there's 2 particular article, it was taken from a nudity magazine (playboy). at first, i wasn't too comfy with the environment because the air condition wasn't cool enough and the fan was set a low speed. it took me a while to settle down while both of us look into the menu on what to order.

it didn't took us long to get what we wanted as we always wanted to try the huge portion of "grilled pork knuckles" that is enough for 2 person. both myself and sm ordered a portion of the pork knuckles to start with. it comes with a choice of either mashed potatoes, baked potatoes or fries and some pickled veges and melon. as for drinks, both of us had ice water while i ordered a bottle of german's warsteiner. it took about 15mins before the food is served and the very first impression is it doesn't look huge at all and even one person will be able to finish it. we only knew that i am totally wrong with my impression when we were 3/4 in finishing it. by the end of it, we knew that we had enough and no more room for any other food or even desserts.

towards the end of the dinner, i knew that i wasn't feeling right because there's this early symptoms of flu and cold. i just couldn't stop sneezing away till we left the restaurant. it gets even worst while we were taking a short walk in bsv and i just felt weak and my body starts to give way. it was an early night for both of us and sm decided to go home so that i can rest well.

had some flu medicine after my shower a while ago and hopefully i'll get better tomorow!!!
